Avadhuta Paramahamsa Sri Swami Samarpanananda Saraswati, lovingly known as Guruji, is an Enlightened Advaita Master, Traditional Siddha Kriya Yoga Guru, Mystic, Author, humanitarian, wandering Hindu monk, International Peace Leader, and Spiritual Teacher. He is widely respected for his profound knowledge of Yoga, Advaita Vedanta, Shaiva-Śakta Tantra, Kundalini, and the ancient spiritual sciences of Sanatana Dharma.

Early Life and Spiritual Training
Born in a remote village of Odisha, India, Guruji completed his Bachelor of Science in Botany from Utkal University in 1989.
Inspired by an intense spiritual calling, he entered the traditional Gurukul system at Sivananda Ashram, Rishikesh.
There he received Mantra Diksha from His Holiness Swami Chidananda Saraswati Maharaj and graduated from the prestigious 15th Yoga-Vedanta Forest Academy (YVFA) in 1990, specializing in the philosophy and psychology of Yoga and Vedanta.
In 1992, he was appointed Acharya (Yoga Teacher) of the Yoga-Vedanta Forest Academy by His Holiness Swami Krishnananda Saraswati Maharaj, General Secretary of Sivananda Ashram.
Guruji later undertook formal Brahmacharya Diksha and completed the one-year Sannyasa Training under His Holiness Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati Maharaj, receiving the blessings of His Holiness Swami Satyananda Saraswati Maharaj. He was formally initiated into Sannyasa on 8 November 1993.
On 5 May 2022, coinciding with Adi Shankaracharya Jayanti, Guruji performed the traditional Viraja Homa, the sacred Vedic rite of renunciation, under the guidance of His Holiness Swami Aditya Tirthji Maharaj at Hari Hara Kailash Jnana Peetham, Rishikesh.
From 1994 to 1998, he pursued advanced studies in classical Indian philosophy (Ṣaḍ-Darśana) and Advaita Vedanta at the renowned Kailash Ashram, Rishikesh, following the lineage established by Adi Shankaracharya.

Advanced training in Traditional Thai Massage and Herbal Therapy at Shivagakomarpaj Old Medicine Hospital, Chiang Mai, Thailand (1998 & 2014)
One-year Meditation Diploma in Buddhist and Yogic Meditation under Swami Nishchalananda Saraswati in Wales, United Kingdom (2008–2009)
Guruji’s Sri Vidya journey began in 1991.
In 2021, following profound spiritual experiences at Kamakhya Temple, Assam, he received the complete and highest teachings of Sri Vidya Shodashi Diksha under the grace of Parashakti Kamakhya Maa and his revered Guru His Holiness Swami Aditya Tirthji Maharaj, in the traditional Shankaracharya lineage.
International Spiritual Tours
Since 1998, Guruji has travelled extensively throughout the world, spreading the authentic teachings of Yoga, Vedanta, Shaiva Agama Tantra, and Kriya Yoga.
He has conducted Yoga Teacher Training programs, meditation retreats, spiritual discourses, and initiated sincere seekers into Mantra Diksha, Sannyasa Diksha, Kriya Yoga, and traditional Tantric practices.
To date, Guruji has travelled to more than 51 countries across Asia, Europe, North America, Latin America, and Australia.
Swami Samarpan Ashram
In 2002, inspired by his Guru and guided by an inner vision, Guruji established Swami Samarpan Ashram in Rishikesh.
Nestled amidst the Himalayan foothills near the sacred River Ganga, the Ashram has become the international headquarters for his spiritual mission.
Although Guruji remains deeply grateful to all his Gurus and teachers, his institutions function independently and are not affiliated with any other organization.

Swami Samarpan Ashram is home to Guruji’s renowned Panchagni Sadhana, one of the most demanding austerities described in the Shaiva Agama tradition.
During this sacred observance, Guruji meditates from sunrise to sunset seated amidst four sacred fire altars, with the sun serving as the fifth fire.
Performed exclusively for world peace, universal welfare, and realization of Shiva Consciousness, this rare sadhana has attracted attention from spiritual seekers and media worldwide.
